REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD

Updated: Jan 3, 2023

In some ways, creating this pop up site feels like a reunion. I haven't connected with most of you since I closed the doors of Christopher's Table six years ago. It's a strange new world since we last saw each other, I hope you and your families are all happy and healthy.

My career has taken me on a journey filled with exciting opportunities over the past several years. After closing Christopher's Table, I was able to spend time with my family and help raise our boys. It's strange to think that they seemed so little then and hard to fathom that they are full blown teenagers now. Eventually, I returned to the restaurant industry working as a General Manager in and around the North Shore of Boston before making the leap into the city, managing the iconic Oak Room (Now Oak Long Bar) at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. The COVID-19 pandemic has touched all of us but it has been difficult to watch the staggering toll it has wrought on the hospitality industry.  So, like so many others, I found myself quarantined and restless. Cleaning my house and raking leaves didn't seem like much fun at all so instead, I baked.  I cooked and baked and baked some more.  And all the while my waist line crept wider and wider.  Something had to be done, it was too dangerous having so many desserts and treats around.  Light bulb moment, a pop up!  It felt like a throwback to better times, and it provided an opportunity to safely reach out and connect (or reconnect) with so many of you at a time when isolation and distancing have become a necessary reality.

Sharing food has always been at the core of what I do. A communal table and a shared meal, actual or virtual, creates community and kinship, two things we all could use right now. Thank you for welcoming me back so enthusiastically and letting me cook for you again.

I've missed you.
